Thuya wood comes from a coniferous tree from the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in North Africa. The grain of the wood is brought out by many hours of polishing with natural oils. Although the tree itself can regenerate after havingbeen logged, these beautiful items are made from the root sections which grow out from the tree, and are therefore sustainable and fairly traded. Because of the amazing grain patterns, each piece is unique.
